Joseph Mazzola – Iredell Health System
Speaker Bio
Dr Joseph Mazzola obtained his medical training at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia. He earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Fayetteville State University and additionally he has received the designation of Certified Physician Executive (CPE) from the American Association of Physician Leaders. During his career he has practiced as a family physician as well as an academic physician. He has served in many healthcare leadership roles as a Program Director, Chief Academic Officer, and Chief Medial Officer. He is a Black Belt in LEAN/Six Sigma and has led training courses for many organizations on patient safety, leadership and team building with the goal of helping others learn to utilize core tools to improve outcomes and deliver high quality project results.
Class Description
Healthcare Technology leaders are tasked with balancing technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and patient safety—while leading teams with diverse skill sets, experience levels, and personalities. This interactive 90 minute session focuses on practical, evidence based team building strategies specifically adapted for healthcare technology management (HTM) environments. Participants will explore how effective team dynamics directly influence reliability, safety culture, and operational performance, and will engage in hands on group exercises designed to strengthen communication, trust, and shared accountability within their teams.
