Medical Device Integration – Beyond BioMed: How Clinical Engineering Impacts and Enhances Clinical Process

Lisa Manro – Wake Med

Speaker Bio

With more than 30 years of nursing experience across diverse clinical environments, I bring a uniquely integrated perspective to healthcare technology, patient care, and operational leadership. Building upon a strong clinical foundation allowed for a smooth transition into the technology field in 2006 with the title of Epic Build Analyst and then on to Project Management and analytics through Population Management. Working on reporting for the Brian White Foundation and the State of NC reporting from within Epic allowed for the learning of data processes and storage and lead to a certification in Epic Reporting. From there, again transitioning into a more technical role specializing in the connection between clinical workflows, healthcare data systems, and biomedical technology in 2016. I hold a Batchelor of Science degree from Grand Canyon University, several Epic certifications, and a certification by Masimo for their middleware technologies. In my spare time I spend time with my children and grandchildren, create art, and own a small art supply business.
